April 2, 2009
Perfect conditions at The Wreck (named after The Wollongbar which slipped its morings and sank  during a cyclone in 1922 )
If only the condtions looked like this every day.   Hope you were here!
The Officical Report
East Coast March 26 – 30, 2009
SE Qld/northern NSW.
Since the last SE Qld/northern NSW Meltdown that covered until
Tuesday February 24,
the waves have been pumping in SE Qld and
northern NSW. Ex tropical cyclone Jasper was camped in the Coral Sea,
well offshore and a blocking high has been camped in the Tasman Sea
streaming a SE airflow onto the coast from way offshore. Last
Thursday afternoon the E swell jumped up into the 4-5 ft range.
On Friday morning it was flawless. Early offshore SSW winds guaranteed
clean, sunny conditions. There were some beachies handling it on the
morning high tide, but the best value was on all the points from Byron to
Noosa.
